Business Situation/Requirement
The purpose of this application is to provide interfaces to user in which they can enter different input factors (which affect the calculation of strength of a segmental retaining wall) and see the results calculated by the system on the basis of those inputs.
Solution provided
Following interfaces are required to be built up for the requirements.
- General project data sheet information: This interface will be used to capture general information related to the project sheet such as name of the project, owner, company etc. Also this interface will capture general application level inputs such as measuring unit, SR wall type etc.
- Soil Properties Interface: This interface will be used to capture the soil properties at different layers (Reinforced Soil, Retained, Leveling and Foundation).
- Unit Module: This module will be used to define segmental block and its interface properties. This module will have following interfaces:
- Unit Dimensions and Weight: This interface will capture length, width, height, weight etc. of each segmental unit of the wall. This will also capture CAP properties of the unit.
- Unit Interface Properties: This interface will be used to capture block interface properties such as ultimate strength of the unit, friction angle etc.
- Grid Reinforcement module: This module will be used to define geosynthetic layers and their connection properties. Following interfaces will be used for the module:
- Grid Options Interface: This interface will help users in defining their geosynthetic layer(s) properties. User will have the facility to define three types of Geosynthetic layers.
- Grid Segmental Unit Connection Properties Interface: This interface will help users in defining the connection properties of geosynthetic layer and segmental unit block.
- Grid Segmental Unit Interface Shear Capacity Interface: This interface will help users in defining the shear capacity properties of geosynthetic layer(s).
- Design Module: This module will basically have three interfaces:
- Static Analysis: This interface will facilitate the user to define static design analysis. User will be able to define the values of different factors of stability.
- Wall Geometry and Surface Surcharge Loads: This interface will provide the facility to define wall geometry and surface properties such as slope of the wall, batter of the wall, live & dead surcharges on the wall etc.
- Reinforcement layout: This interface will be used to capture reinforcement properties of the wall. It will be used to capture the type and location of the geosynthetic layers of the wall.
- Results Module: This module will be used to show the results calculated on the basis of different input parameters supplied by the user. This module will have following three interfaces:
- Internal Stability Results
- External Stability Results
- Internal Compound Stability Results
- Seismic Results
- Facial Stability Results
- Besides these interfaces, following features will also be delivered for the application:
- DXF file output for cross sections
- Product Licensing
- Provision for internet update of application
- Splash & User Mode Change Functionalities
